A few weeks ago, Kayla came to me in the morning and asked if she can make a smoothie for breakfast. Of course! I told her she should come up with her own recipe and I’ll post it. So she did! Well, then her twin brother wanted to get in on the action…so he did! Here is Kayla’s peanut butter banana breakfast smoothie and my Aidon’s blueberry breakfast smoothie. Here’s to a healthy, kid-friendly breakfast! Enjoy!

Health tips: kid-friendly, kidney friendly*
Aidon’s Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie Ingredients: 1 serving (*this one is kidney-friendly)
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 banana, cut into chunks (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup sweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 packet of plain oatmeal
- 1 tsp agave (optional)
Steps:
Notes: It’s always good to have different frozen fruits on hand in your freezer. To keep bananas, first peel and cut them into chunks. Spread the chunks on wax paper on a cookie sheet. Pop the cookie sheet in the freezer until chunks are frozen. Once frozen, you can take them off, put them in a freezer-safe food storage bag for up to several weeks!
1. Place all ingredients in a personal blender. Blend until nice and smooth. Pour into a glass, stick in a straw, and enjoy!
